A Manchester City youth person has been jailed for 16 months for causing the death of a sister and by careless driving. Courtney Meppen-Walter, 18, was driving his Mercedes car racing at around 56mph in a 30mph zone when he ploughed into a Nissan Micra rising from the side street. The Nissan driver, Kulwant Singh, 32, from Salford, and his sister, front seat passenger Ravel Kaur, 37, from Cheetham Hill, were both killed. Ms Kaur's two sons, aged 16 and 17, both backseat individuals, were also hurt in the accident. The fatal hit happened on September 1 at the junction of Great Ducie Street and Sherborne Street in central Manchester. Ms Kaur's two adolescent daughters are actually building a good recovery. Meppen-Walter, of Middleton Road, Blackley, Manchester, mentioned two matters of causing death by reckless driving earlier in the day this month. The Bury-born defense has been at the Premier League club since 2003. He's been an everyday in the England under-17 side. More follows...
