Why Stoke City Should Sack Tony Pulis to Truly Save Club's Future - Bleacher Report

Hoof-ball. Sort throwing. Anti-football. Whatever you want to contact Tony Pulis' long-ball techniques, two things are essential to note: it is probably the most negative soccer the Premier League has every seen, and a large proportion of fans, coaches and players utterly despise it. Pulis makes Jan Allardyce look like Pep Guardiola. It is not a particularly bad technique to say the least. Last season, Stoke won minimal number of objectives in the Premier League, just 36 in 38 games. And currently in last with just 28 goals this year, the Potters seem well on their solution to retaining their title. However, what makes the method usable may be the increased exposure of hard-nosed safety. Stoke are constantly one of the better in the league at keeping their opponents from scoring. Pulis' defenders have gained a reputation (whether deserved or not) of being dirty and trying to hurt players, but whatever it is spent some time working to realistic effect. This tactic will result in a great deal of 0-0 and 1-1 draws, and a is a point. Stoke have was able to easily stay in the Premier League throughout Pulis' stint as a result, at the very least until now.
