Canelo Alvarez compared to. Austin Bass Results: Both Fighters Raise Stock in Legendary Clash

Canelo Alvarez (42-0-1) pressed his recognition to new heights with a unanimous-decision victory over formerly undefeated enemy Austin Trout (26-1) on Saturday. But, Trout shouldn't leave out of this combat with his head down too low; he did plenty to boost his share in his protection of his WBA light middleweight crown. Despite the clean sweep on the scorecards, Trout put in a performance that proved he is among the elite practitioners in the 154-pound weight class. The final result was not changed by it, but Trout could execute his game plan, dictate the speed and out-box Alvarez for stretches of the struggle. Incredible heart was shown by him by rebounding from the first knockdown of his career by winning the rest of the round. You can find those, such as MaxBoxing's Gabriel Montoya, that would make a strong case that Trout even won the battle. Being on the end of a closely contested decision is a discouraging way to be handed your first loss, but it isn't like Trout was taken out. The fact that he offered a great round to Alvarez should be enough to either cause a rematch in the future or make him a far more identifiable pull for larger battles. He no more gets the drawing power of being undefeated, nonetheless it isn't as if he was broken out by inferior competition. A blade thin damage to a future (or present) celebrity isn't the end of the world. Trout will undoubtedly be back in the spotlight sooner as opposed to later. For Alvarez, he doesn't need to be concerned about blemishing his undefeated report yet. He preserved his perfect 42-0-1 mark, and at just 22 years of age, he is in a great position to push his career to new levels with the gain. Whether or not you buy into the decision, Alvarez did not back against a fellow undefeated champion. His mixture of power and power was on display, and he became the very first person to deliver Trout to the fabric in his profession. If Alvarez may hold delivering outstanding wins, he might only end up as boxing's next big draw.
