The La Lakers retired Shaquille O'Neal's extra-extra-large No. 34 jersey in the center of their playoff-altering sport with the Dallas Mavericks Tuesday evening. As you can imagine, there have been some interesting twists and turns on the way. Los Angeles ' game was going nicely for the first half, even though Dwight Howard may've been doing his better to pay respect to O'Neal through the game. Everything started out with Shaq's household rocking out onto the floor and a very good, hilarious movie gratitude. Which was followed with a recorded video conversation from Kobe Bryant, congratulating his former teammate for his deserved honor. The largest downside from the very first short while of it all was exactly that Shaq was wearing a damn shiny suit. Phil Jackson arrived on the scene next, and that's when things started initially to get awkward. The lovers weren't particularly supportive of these current head coach. Sooner or later Jackson gave his speecha'the primary downside being that Shaq was a weird person but Phil loved being around him. After halftime, Craig Sager noted that the Lakers heard the "We want Phil" chants back the locker room. The effect was primarily a conclusion and a shoulder shrug they've got a crucial basketball game to play. Jeanie Buss came forward next, while they finally revealed the hat alongside the rest of the Laker tales. Shaq finally took the microphone, thanking every one from Phil Jackson and Jim Buss to Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. He did, but, leave some one out, making Twitter ablaze. In the end, Shaq's decision to exclude each of his former teammates seemed more an issue of expediency (though he did give a because of about a dozen a-listers), and he tweeted out a movie thanking his teammates following the fact. Ultimately, it had been the perfect tribute to Wilt Chamberneezy. It was occasionally goofy, serious, completely unexpected, difficult and weirda'sometimes every one of the above. Congratulations to the biggest, most cute dude actually to shove Chris Dudley to the floor. I'm sure also Duds was smiling a bit Tuesday night.
