Schmeichel: Manchester City decline down seriously to Mancini - Yahoo! Activities

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel says that Manchester City director Roberto Mancini may be the basis for the Premier League champion's decline this year. The 'Great Dane' feels that the Italian's public criticism of his people is a huge essential contributor to the frustrating concept safety this season, and says that it's something Sir Alex Ferguson would never do. Mancini has been especially vocal when criticizing famous brands Joe Hart, Samir Nasri and club captain Vincent Kompany in recent weeks, and Schmeichel feels it has influenced the teamas shows. "You will never see United director Sir Alex Ferguson in the media taking problems he's, or the group has, or the team has, in to the open," Schmeichel told Sky Sports. "Never ever. Nevertheless, you do observe that at Manchester City. "Some people have already been heavily criticized by the director in public. Perhaps Mancini brings that from Italy. Where there are different objectives, perhaps you do that there. But that will not work here. I can understand that some of the people have now been upset or disappointed with that form of therapy. Often they'll take that on to the frequency and not perform 100 % for the manager." Town adopts the derby 15 factors behind its neighbor with the title all but going back once again to Old Trafford. And Schmeichel reckons City as a club has struggled to deal with the challenges of being champion and competing with United. "When you talk about Manchester City struggling to contend with Manchester United - and that is what it is, the hole is 15 points, so that's struggling - it is all about the complete baseball club," Schmeichel said. "At Manchester United you'll have a bad day and the fans comprehend. Even in an emergency game you could have a poor result and the team is still backed by them. That's a really big difference between United and almost every other groups, apart from perhaps Arsenal." Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
