In Sad Aftermath of Boston Race Bombing, We Are All Patriots

Shock are all Patriotsa These were Robert Kraftas terms following the New England Patriots seized their first tournament in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks. Today, in the aftermath of the Patriotsa Day bombing at the storied Boston Marathon, they ring truer than ever.A Indeed, we're all patriots, and Monday was our day.A No longer does Patriotsa Day participate in Boston.A No longer could it be underneath the single control of Massachusetts and Maine. Nor does it fit in with the hatred and fear that went Mondayas dreadful act of violence and the diseased dirt of societyas undercarriage that perpetrated it. ATheir time will are available in time, though it will be one of reckoning and justice, not patriotism and surely not one of fear triumphing over creativity and company. No, Patriotsa Day belongs to the eight-year-old child whose life was tragically cut short.A It belongs to the wounded and shell-shocked bystanders who today flood Bostonas traumatization centers.A It belongs to law enforcement, firefighters and EMTs who saved countless lives with their quick-acting heroism. It belongs to the volunteers in the medical tents and the fans who sprung into action and saved strangers from the horrors of Mondayas violence.A It belongs to Joe Andruzzi, the former New England Patriot who was seen holding patients away from the blast. It belongs to the parents filling the streets with children perched atop their shoulders and it belongs to the children craning their necks for a better view while the ketchup from their Fenway Franks drips onto dadas top. It belongs to the athletes for whom the final line wasnat an arbitrary mark strewn across a road littered with sweat, blood and tears, but instead a hospital room where they could give blood. Traditional enemy lines are crossed by the New York Yankees in a show of solidarityElsa/Getty Images Monday belongs to the people seeing at home who found Boylston Street covered with crushed Gatorade glasses but an spirit.A It belongs to every American who joined the national outpouring of love and service. It belongs to the global community who tuned into view among the worldas greatest sports and cheer because of their countrymen. Patriotsa Day belongs to your forefathers who made a stand for independence in the experience of tyranny, occupation and oppression.A Additionally, it belongs to those world wide who risk their lives daily to take a stand of their very own and to the generations of liberators who will do so in the future. Friday belongs to Newtown, Aurora, Oklahoma City and Columbine.A It belongs to the passengers of United Air companies Flight 93.A It belongs to the enduring masses living underneath the shadow of genocide and civil war, and it belongs to those around the world that are forced to call home in fear. Patriotsa Day is one of the enduring human spirit.A It represents mankindas highest ideals.A the items that make it worth living are worth dying for and that It tells us that life is worth fighting for. Today, as specialists sift through the dirt and wash the body from Bostonas sidewalks, none of us are victims. We are patriots.
