Tiger Woods is in an exceedingly familiar position at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and he will have a two-stroke lead into Sundayas final round. But a success in Orlando will give some thing to him he hasnat had since 2009: confidence going into Augusta. Woods have been treated by bay Hill well through the duration of his career, and if he stays atop the leaderboard after Sundayas round, he will record the subject at this competition for the eighth time. With The Masters just a few weeks away, this victory are certain to get the golf world buzzing in regards to a possible end to the greatest major drought of Woodsa job. He went winless at every one of the marquee competitions in '09, then accidents and a mistrust scandal derailed his occupation and cost his position to him atop the World Golf Rankings. The 2008 U.S. Open is Woodsa last victory at a major, and if he does not get at Augusta, the drought will last at least a complete five years. An extended break was taken by woods from the beginning of 2010, and his first tournament of the year was The Masters. He finished last and delivered a remarkable showing. In 2012, he could create momentum before the very first major of the year with a finish at the Honda Classic and a success at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but then he flopped at The Masters and completed 40th. He did better at the residual majors, but a victory eluded him. But now, heas playing his best golf since his fall from grace. Woods did not win an individual PGA tournament this season, then notched only one success in 2011. He topped three leaderboards through the season and showed improvement in 2012. If he holds on to his cause at Bay Hill, he'll have his third victory of the 2013 season. The final time he had three wins under his belt before The Masters was in 2008. He finished second to Trevor Immelman at Augusta that year, but went on to get the U.S. Open. That was Woods at his best, and it's not completely clear if that player has resurfaced. Until he wins an important woods won't technically be back. However for Woods, itas inadequate for him to just gain PGA events and contend with one other participants in the area. As a result of his incredible success and prodigious skill earlier in his career, he is competing with the figures of the game everytime he strikes the course. Right now, he is losing that fight. There was just one point in Jack Nicklausa profession where he went five years between earning majors. This got between his 17th victory at the 1980 PGA Championship and his 18th and final gain at the 1986 Masters at age 46. Woods still features a few years until age will start limiting his capability to dominate, and he must make the most of this time around if he hopes to really have a chance at finding Nicklausa record. After he begins making another thrust toward his 18th career success at a major woods is only going to be back. This means that a victory for Woods away Hill will not have a whole lot of meaning in itself. But it will place him in better form than he has been since the conclusion of 2009, and there will become more confidence encompassing his arrival at Augusta than there was in just about any of the last four years.
