The 2013 Players Championship – Storylines?

The case some dub as the 5th major is upon us this week so that as the days lead up, the biggest story is definetly Vijay Singh vs your PGA Tour. While this isn't the place for every detail, today Singh filed case against the tour that some are calling absurd.

Moving past that, play begins tomorrow and an event that is usually vine ripened with story lines seems a bit off this week. Defending champion Matt Kuchar can be teeing it up inside early rounds with fellow Bridgestone employee Brandt Snedeker, along with world number one Tiger Woods in this marquis matchup. Is the actual largest story this week, Tiger Woods taking on the course that has given him fits in earlier times?

Woods has just under 80 victories in this career, but his wins attended at only 25 functions. With eight wins at both Torrey Pines and additionally Bay Hill and over half of his entire total coming at events that he has won multiple circumstances. One that stands out this is the course this week, that Tiger has won just a single time and provides but a lone top since 2001. Is this the main story of the contest?

Could another rolling story function as a continuing struggles of Rory McIlroy? To remain fair, struggles may not function as a best term to illustrate his play in 2013, but alternatively not evolving from the last year. Will he discover the wheels back on the tracks and make a run? Will viewers obtain the same kind of star studded leader board that's graced much of a 2013 season?
